एक समय की बात है, एक कुत्ता भोजन की तलाश में जंगल में घूम रहा था।
उसने भोजन की तलाश की लेकिन उसे खाने के लिए कुछ नहीं मिला।
घूमते-घूमते वह एक मछली बेचने वाले की दुकान पर पहुंचा।
वहां उसने एक मछली को जमीन पर पड़ा हुआ देखा।
उसने तुरंत मछली उठाई और खाने के लिए वापस जंगल की ओर चला गया।
जब वह नदी पार कर रहा था.
तो उसने पानी में अपना प्रतिबिंब देखा और सोचने लगा।

कि एक और कुत्ता नदी में खड़ा होकर मछली पकड़ रहा है.
उसने सोचा कि वह उससे भी मछली ले लेगा।
लेकिन जैसे ही उसने मछली छीनने के लिए अपना मुंह खोला, उसकी अपनी मछली भी धारा में गिर गई।
फिर उसने सोचा कि यह कोई दूसरा कुत्ता नहीं बल्कि मेरा ही प्रतिबिम्ब है।
और दूसरे कुत्ते से मछली छीनने की कोशिश में उसने अपनी मछली भी खो दी।
A story lesson
इस कहानी से हमें यह शिक्षा मिलती है कि हमारे पास क्या है। हमें इसमें आनन्दित होना चाहिए और अन्य वस्तुओं का लालच नहीं करना चाहिए।
